As a postpartum doula coming into your home, it’s my ultimate goal to help support you in your transition into your new role as a parent. I’m here to help make the transition as seamless as possible. Below are some examples of how I incorporate this goal into my care, but each family has needs as unique as they are, and there’s room to tailor each individual experience to best suit your needs.

Postpartum Support

  • Help siblings adjust to a new baby

  • Support partners and other family members

  • Promote healthy family bonding

Education & Resources

  • Answer questions about postpartum recovery and newborn care

  • Offer evidence-based information

  • Utilize and recommend community resources

Flexible, Client-Centered Care

  • Offer day or overnight shifts

  • Adapt to each family’s unique needs, values, and routines

  • Help build parents’ confidence and independence

Newborn Care

Newborn Care Support

  • Demonstrate and assist with diapering, swaddling, and bathing

  • Help interpret baby’s cries, cues, and behaviours

  • Teach safe sleep practices and help to gently establish sleep routines

  • Offer tips on soothing techniques (rocking, white noise, etc.)

  • Support responsive caregiving and bonding with baby

  • Provide reassurance and answer common newborn care questions

  • Offer suggestions for baby gear and safe product use

  • Encourage parents’ confidence in caring for their newborn

Feeding Support

  • Support breastfeeding/chestfeeding, bottle-feeding, or combination feeding

  • Offer guidance on latch, positioning, and feeding schedules

  • Refer to lactation consultants if needed
